Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to lead I&C engineering for complex projects at multiple client sites in the US. You will design control systems, mentor engineers, and coordinate with global teams to ensure schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.

The role requires extensive experience in process instrumentation, DCS/PLC architectures, and an ability to travel to client facilities for site surveys and presentations. Hybrid work environment offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years’ experience as Control Systems Engineer
• Experience in Bio Pharma, Pharmaceutical & Lab process Instrumentation and controls preferred
• Knowledge of International codes like ASME BPE, Dairy, Hygienic systems
• Knowledgeable of Life Science Industry Automation, DCS and PLC control systems, and development of P&ID’s
• Must be able to travel to client’s facilities for presentations, site surveys and field assignments

Responsibilities

• Oversee all I&C engineering and design activities for assigned projects.
• Manage domestic and international teams and provide mentorship.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, Jacobs standards, and industry regulations.
• Develop project scopes of work, manhour estimates, execution plans, and resource needs.
• Lead I&C throughout all project phases and coordinate with the Department Manager.
• Identify staffing needs and align resources.
• Design electrical circuits and control panels and develop control systems.
• Mentor team members and foster career growth.
• Perform tiered reviews of deliverables for codes and design criteria.
