Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineer in Houston to lead technical control system scopes across medium to large oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical projects. You will oversee DCS, PLC, SIS, and BMS engineering, while coordinating with procurement, design, and execution teams.

The role demands strong leadership, advanced instrumentation expertise, and proven ability to manage suppliers and interfaces with multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industry experience.
• 5+ years in technical control systems leadership.
• Experience developing process control specifications and control system design.
• Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers.
• Experience requisitioning, evaluating bids, and reviewing supplier data for instruments and control systems (DCS/PLC/SIS/BMS).
• Demonstrated instrumentation experience and familiarity with electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and panel schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist execution lead to manage cost, scope, schedule, and reporting.
• Influence internal/external resources through relationship building.
• Manage execution of engineering design per specs and standards.
• Assemble scopes of work and construction packages with documentation.
• Facilitate safety and constructability reviews.
• Create requisitions for engineered items and spare parts lists.
• Communicate technical and commercial issues to project lead.
• Ensure project documentation is complete.
