Job summary

KBR is seeking an I&C - Senior Engineer to lead technical and operation engineering for instrumentation and process control scope, including DCS, telecoms, instrumentation, and analyzers for large oil & gas projects. You will collaborate with execution teams, manage supplier data, develop scopes, and ensure safe, compliant design documentation.

Strong leadership, communication, and safety focus are essential. The role requires 10+ years in industry with leadership experience and PE/P.Eng.

Qualifications

KBR is looking for a I&C - Senior Engineer who will be responsible for the technical and operation engineering of assigned instrumentation and process control system scope, including DCS, telecommunications, instrumentation, and process analyzers for medium to large oil and gas, refining and petrochemical projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the execution lead, with an eye for managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements for assigned tasks.
• Use strong organizational savvy and relationship building skills to influence both internal and external resources.
• Under the direction of the lead, this individual has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to manage the execution of assigned aspects of the engineering design in accordance with applicable specifications and standards to achieve project objectives.
• Assembles clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages including documentation.
• Facilitates safety and constructability reviews.
• Creates requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list.
• Communicates technical and commercial issues to the lead as related to project objectives.
• Successfully communicates with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, and all other departments.
• Ensures all project documentation is completed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industries experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical control systems leadership.
• Total Minimum 10 years of experience.
• PE or P.Eng. strongly preferred.

Required Skills

• Experience developing process control specifications and control system design.

• Demonstrated experience requisitioning, evaluating bids, and reviewing/managing supplier data for instruments and process control systems, such as DCS, PLC, SIS, BMS.
• Demonstrated experience in instrumentation.
• Experience with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules.
• Knowledge of and exposure to telecoms, cyber security, and process analyzer engineering a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, other disciplines, procurement, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
• Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Experience with advanced control strategies.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
