  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation/Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of instrumentation, controls, or automation experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or process manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of SIS, SIL, SIF, alarm management, interlocks, and safety systems.
  • Experience supporting plant operations and maintenance activities involving PLC and DCS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and SIS within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Process Safety, and Capital Projects teams to ensure safe, reliable plant performance.
  • Develop and update instrument specifications, datasheets, P&IDs, loop diagrams, interlock diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Support installation, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment and systems.
  • Lead efforts related to SIS, SIL, and SIF, supporting PHA, LOPA, MOC, incident investigations, and OSHA PSM IEC 61511 compliance.
  • Investigate instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions to improve alarm management, interlocks, and control system performance.
  • Support plant reliability initiatives, develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation assets.
  • Participate in capital and expense projects by providing design, equipment selection, vendor coordination, and technical reviews.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor to I&E technicians during turnarounds, outages, and startups.

Responsibilities
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and safety instrumented systems (SIS) within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Process Safety, and Capital Projects teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance while maintaining compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and update instrument specifications, datasheets, engineering standards, P&IDs, loop diagrams, interlock diagrams, and control narratives.
  • Support installation, commissioning, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment and systems.
  • Lead efforts related to Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), supporting PHA, LOPA, MOC, incident investigations, and ensuring OSHA PSM, IEC 61511 compliance.
  • Investigate instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions to improve alarm management, interlocks, and control system performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of instrumentation, controls, or automation engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or process manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation design, SIS, SIL, SIF, alarm management, interlocks, and safety systems.
  • Experience supporting plant operations and maintenance activities involving PLC and DCS systems.
