Job summary

ExxonMobil in Baytown, TX seeks an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to design, configure, program and maintain instrumentation systems across the complex. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related engineering and at least 3 years in petrochemical environments, with strong hands-on diagnostic skills and knowledge of process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in the petrochemical, refining, or chemical industry.
• Knowledge of process measurement technologies including pressure, temperature, level, and flow.
• Experience specifying and applying instrumentation, control valves, and shutdown systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and familiarity with ISA/API standards.
• Understanding of field instrumentation, signal transmission, communications, and process safety requirements.
• Experience troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems and resolving field issues.
• Working knowledge of DCS, SIS, and industrial control systems from major vendors.

Responsibilities

• Provide instrument engineering design, configuration, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support safe and reliable operations of instrumentation equipment within the Complex.
• Sizing and specifying instrumentation for changes.
• Interface with vendors and contractors to maintain, troubleshoot, repair/replace, configure/tune/program, test/commission/de-commission, etc.
• Support development of equipment strategies, understanding redundancy, reliability, and maintainability.
