Job summary

Audubon seeks an Instrument Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers in our Houston, TX office. You will oversee instrument design, calculations, and project delivery, ensuring safety and compliance with HSSE standards.

You will mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, liaise with clients and vendors, and drive cost-saving, technically sound solutions for multi-discipline projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
• ABET Accredited Institution preferred
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred
• PE License preferred
• Field experience required
• Industry experience required
• Minimum of 15 years experience preferred
• Large multi-discipline project lead experience preferred
• Experience with SPI, valve sizing and related design tools preferred
• Prior supervisory experience within an engineering environment preferred
• Knowledge of instrumented control and safety systems design preferred
• Knowledge of ISA/NEC/API design codes preferred
• Strong communication and team leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Interact with direct reports, clients, subcontractors, vendors and consultants
• Set and monitor project schedules and budgets
• Ensure reports meet quality standards and design checks
• Oversee engineering drawings and calculations quality
• Mentor and supervise staff; manage hiring and performance
• Manage workload, resources, and project risk
• Develop design guidelines and procedures
• Assess feasibility, costs and timelines for projects
• Coordinate with drafting/design teams and site visits
• Ensure HSSE compliance and safety training
