Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is seeking a senior lead designer to supervise a team of designers and deliver complete electrical and instrumentation packages. You will set technical direction, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and collaborate with clients to resolve complex design issues.

The role requires extensive field and drafting experience, strong knowledge of NEC, and the ability to mentor staff while coordinating with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with NEC and electrical codes.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to develop 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specs.
• Capable of estimating construction quantities and costs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to designers.
• Deliver electrical and instrumentation deliverables on time and within budget.
• Mentor subordinates and coordinate with discipline leads.
• Provide on-site support during startup.
• Produce equipment specifications and installation details with review and approval.
• Communicate project scope, progress, and risks to the team and clients.
• Lead design checks to ensure code compliance and quality.
