Job summary

Samsara, a leader in Connected Operations, is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for its Customer Education team. This remote US role focuses on creating scalable learning experiences to support customers and partners, including AI-driven content development and in-app training across diverse audiences.

You will partner with Success, Product, Sales, and Implementation to transform complex features into clear, engaging learning experiences, owning a product area as the team evolves.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years learning design or instructional design experience in a software/SaaS setting.
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and ability to craft engaging learning content.
• Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats for objectives.
• Collaboration skills and teamwork.
• Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail.
• Knowledge of legacy and emerging content development tools such as Parta.io, Articulate, Camtasia, Zoom, Clueso.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders across the company to define training requirements, learning goals and user needs for both customers and partners.
• Craft and build learning & credentialing experiences in different formats (online learning, audio, video, in-app, etc.), working within the constraints of different templates and business requirements.
• Leverage a wide range of tools (AI-based content authoring, multimedia) to develop content rapidly and iteratively.
• Push yourself and the team to evolve and improve upon our processes, and to discover and test new instructional development models and tooling.
• Solicit reviews from partners and SMEs, and review others' content and assessments for effectiveness.
• Own an assigned Samsara product area, by monitoring updates, maintaining its curriculum, and partnering with leadership on incoming requests.
• Build product expertise through self-directed research, available AI tools, and targeted collaboration with SMEs to validate content.
• Design and write engaging and effective assessments.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's values and operating principles as we scale globally and across new offices.
