Job summary

RailPros is seeking a senior instructional designer to design and develop multimedia-rich training programs for rail and transit clients. You will apply adult learning principles, lead end-to-end content development including assessments, and guide cross-functional teams across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Education, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and implementing employee development programs or similar experience
  • Excellent client interface and management experience for training development projects
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies for classroom-based, self-guided, and virtual training
  • Extensive experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate and Captivate
  • High proficiency developing instructor-led training materials, including Instructor Guides, Participant Manuals, and presentation materials
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communications including email and text
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior proofreading and copywriting abilities, including instructional, audio, and video scripts
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning, and prioritization
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end learning content design and development, including assessments
  • Lead cross-functional development teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Design inclusive learning experiences for diverse learning styles
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, safety officers, and operations leaders to identify training needs and close knowledge gaps
  • Recommend curriculum strategies based on needs analysis
  • Define instructional goals and align content
  • Develop instructor-led training guides, eLearning modules, exams, and surveys
  • Support audio, video, animation, simulation, and game production
  • Create interactive learning exercises and activities
  • Establish performance criteria and develop assessment tools
  • Maintain project documentation and course assets
  • Conduct post-training evaluations and recommend improvements
  • Lead project meetings and make presentations
  • Travel routinely to RailPros headquarters, field offices, client offices, worksites, and project-related locations as required
  • Uphold company policies, applicable laws, integrity, accountability, respect, and a positive workplace culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by business needs
