Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Senior Installation Manager in the United States to oversee full project installation activities, staffing, and planning to meet milestones for smaller projects. You will manage superintendents, foremen, and crews, and handle mechanical, electrical, and mechatronics commissioning, progress reporting, and safety compliance across the full lifecycle of installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience with material handling equipment.
• Service experience with AGVs, AS/RS, or conveyors.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% on short notice.
• Ability to travel and be on-call.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and off shifts.
• Proficient with PCs for word processing, databases, and communications.
• Understanding of PC hardware and software configuration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with equipment trial runs and ensure installations meet Dematic standards.
• Provide training and technical support to subcontractors on equipment used for handling materials.
• Identify installation issues and propose effective solutions.
• Prepare project quotes, including pricing reviews, scope of work, schedules, and equipment lists.
• Select and coordinate subcontractors in conjunction with purchasing.
• Attend weekly project review meetings and track financials.
• Conduct site visits to support commissioning and implement safety and quality standards.
• Complete equipment run-ins and report readiness for commissioning via formal documentation.
• Manage ordering of consumables, supplies, rentals, and other resources for project execution.
• Participate in post-project reviews to recommend design or process improvements.
