Job summary

Dematic is seeking an Installation Superintendent to lead material handling system installations at customer sites in Grand Rapids, MI. You will direct field teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage safety, quality, schedules, and readiness to meet project requirements.

This role requires hands-on leadership for mechanical and electrical installations, labor planning, and coordination with Project Management, Engineering, Controls and Commissioning, with up to 80% travel and a focus on

Qualifications

• Experience supervising mechanical and/or electrical installation activities.
• Strong safety focus and adherence to site requirements.
• Ability to read drawings, layouts, specifications and schedules.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and coordinate field teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field leadership for installation projects.
• Lead and coordinate installation supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure compliance with site safety rules.
• Plan labor requirements based on project schedules and priorities.
• Monitor progress, milestones, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical installation with related teams.
• Review drawings and installation documentation for accuracy.
• Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment for installations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and safety compliance.
• Identify risks and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Support labor forecasting and cost control for installation activities.
• Participate in planning meetings and schedule reviews.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
