Job summary

Dematic seeks an Installation Superintendent to lead safe, efficient field installation of material handling systems at customer sites. You will direct mechanical and electrical installation, labor planning, subcontractor coordination, safety, quality, schedule, and project readiness.

You will collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Controls, Commissioning, customers, and other project participants to complete installations on time, within budget, and in line with Dematic quality

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or managing mechanical and/or electrical installation activities in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, automation, or material handling environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading field personnel, subcontractors, and skilled trades.
• Strong understanding of construction and installation safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Experience with labor planning, scheduling, productivity tracking, and field coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify project risks and take appropriate action to minimize impacts to safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and other project management or construction-related systems.
• Material handling, automation, conveyor, ASRS, robotics, or similar installation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field leadership for material handling installation projects.
• Lead and coordinate Installation Supervisors, Foremen, skilled trades, subcontractors, and other field resources.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Plan and coordinate labor requirements based on project schedules, priorities, and available work fronts.
• Monitor installation progress, productivity, milestones, and schedule performance.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities with Controls, Commissioning, Project Management, Engineering, and other project teams.
• Review project drawings, layouts, specifications, and installation documentation to support field execution.
• Coordinate materials, tools, rental equipment, access equipment, and other resources for installation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work meets safety, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements.
• Identify installation risks and communicate them to project leadership.
• Support labor forecasting and supervise efficiency, overtime, travel, equipment, rentals, rework, and related costs.
• Participate in project planning, pull planning, coordination meetings, and schedule reviews.
• Maintain effective communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders regarding project status.
• Ensure installation quality requirements are maintained and support inspections, punch-list, testing, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate installation completion and system readiness with Controls and Commissioning teams.
• Support project turnover, closeout activities, and lessons learned.
