Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Senior Hospital Inpatient Coder to autonomously code highly complex inpatient encounters from a remote setting. You will assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and POA indicators while ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires collaboration with CDI, providers, and revenue cycle teams from a telework environment. Applicants should have 5+ years of inpatient coding experience, CPC certification, and familiarity with trauma,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• CPC certification required.
• Experience with trauma, transplant, and critical care coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, POA indicators, and other coding elements for complex inpatient encounters.
• Review highly specialized inpatient records involving trauma, transplant, critical care, and other complex services.
• Maintain coding quality, productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times.
