Job summary

Insight Global in the United States is seeking a Facility Inpatient Coder with at least three years of experience to review hospital records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs for inpatient and observed cases.

You will ensure compliant coding, support documentation queries, and contribute to data integrity and proper reimbursement. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential as you work with clinical teams to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• We require at least 3 years of inpatient facility coding experience.
• Inpatient observations coding experience preferred.
• Experience with facility-based SDS coding for surgical procedures.
• Experience coding injections and infusions.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and outpatient guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate coding standards to medical record documentation for accurate coding.
• Submit provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Perform quality assessment of records and verify documentation.
• Research errors or missing documentation to ensure accurate coding processes.
• Abstract and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures in inpatient/outpatient settings.
