Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks an underwriting subject matter expert to support guideline development, training content, and portfolio performance. The role involves research on coverages, maintaining guidelines, and providing analytical support to regional staff and VP-level stakeholders.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure compliance, profitable production, and robust training materials while adapting to regulatory changes and market conditions.

• Demonstrates underwriting expertise and knowledge of LOB-specific coverages, exposures, and underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Guideline creation: develop, document, maintain underwriting guidelines and updates.
• Authority framework: document and maintain the authority delegation framework.
• Curriculum & training: create LOB-specific training curricula and technical content.
• Underwriting referrals: advise on large, complex accounts and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Portfolio analysis: assist with profit & loss reviews and profitability improvement.
• Coverage research: analyze forms, applications, and guidelines to identify issues.
• Vendor & tool support: deploy and manage tool resources and document workflows.
• Compliance support: provide analysis for regulatory compliance discussions.
• Quality assurance: participate in QA and large loss review processes.
• Stakeholder support: deliver exceptional service to agents and regional teams.
