Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a subject-matter expert in underwriting to support the Casualty/Property Underwriting Practices. You will develop guidelines, analyze trends, support training content, and handle referrals for complex accounts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain underwriting guidelines; track changes.
• Maintain authority framework and analyze utilization for risk controls.
• Create training curricula and content for regional staff and SBUs.
• Handle underwriting referrals and provide guidance on complex accounts.
• Analyze profitability with UW leadership; identify trends and opportunities.
• Research coverages and exposures; escalate emerging issues.
• Support tool deployment and vendor resources; ensure compliant operations.
• Support stakeholders with analytical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
