Job summary

Amtrak seeks aSenior Project Manager to lead capital projects within the State of Good Repair program, managing initiation through close. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, build plans and budgets, and report progress to stakeholders across functions and sites.

Role requires experience in transportation infrastructure, governance, and risk management, plus willingness to travel up to 25% and occasional field visits. Amtrak offers competitive benefits and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience.
• 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• CCM or PMP certification preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• 4 days/week at an Amtrak location with 1 day remote.
• Position could require some field visits.

Responsibilities

• Delivers multiple complex infrastructure renewal projects and programs to progress towards, establish, and maintain SOGR.
• Manages a multi-discipline team of subject matter experts and stakeholders in a matrix organization to ensure proper project delivery
• Creates and implements project plans, schedules and budgets consistent with requirements for infrastructure renewal coming from System Engineering.
• Manages and monitors project schedules, progress and costs; update project plans as needed; communicate status to participants and stakeholders
• Identifies and evaluates risks; develops mitigation plans and cross-functional dependencies
• Develops required project management documents per Amtrak standards and regulations
• Supports annual planning with senior leaders through data provision and analysis
• Recommends changes to governance bodies with proper information packaging
• Adheres to enterprise project management methodology and standards
