Job summary

Genentech is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to solve complex business problems across the entire infrastructure technology space. You will influence technology strategy, mentor global teams, and ensure designs meet regulatory standards.

You will lead end-to-end infrastructure design, maintain component standards, and collaborate with IT partners to integrate feedback, while driving architecture across multiple product lines and ensuring compliance with the Technical Architecture Framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a tech/business field.
• 5-8 years of experience in supporting and implementing complex data networks.
• Experience leading challenging projects, small-to-medium technical teams, and medium-sized initiatives.
• Experience making strategic technical decisions and leading large to enterprise-level project teams.
• Proven track record of architecting, designing, and implementing integrated, reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Experience in estimating complex engineering resources, dependencies, and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Scope / (Content Leadership): Acts as a multi-disciplinary, technology-agnostic solution architect, designing, building, testing, and implementing integrated and resilient solutions across the entire infrastructure technology space.
• Accountability/Problem Solving: Develops innovative technological ideas and guides them into final products; leads end-to-end design and maintains related standards.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicates complex information to senior leaders in non-technical terms and influences technology vendors.
• Impact/Strategy: Makes strategic decisions affecting departmental goals and plans large enterprise projects.
• Complexity / (Product Size): Leads geo-distributed teams and mentors diverse teams across locations.
• Business / Technical ability: Applies advanced technical principles across Roche business areas and IT infrastructure.
