Coinbase is expanding its team to own and operate latency-sensitive trading infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments.

The role focuses on reliability, observability, and incident response for 24/7 production trading systems, with a strong emphasis on end-to-end delivery and collaboration with Product, Institutional Markets, and SRE.

Candidates should have extensive experience in regulated financial settings and a track record of reducing single points of failure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infra, platform, or SRE engineering experience.
• Experience running latency-sensitive trading infrastructure, including on-prem/colocated deployments.
• Strong Linux networking and performance in latency-critical settings.
• Experience delivering end-to-end: scoping, implementation, deploy safety, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience in regulated/financial environments.
• Uses generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure, deployment, and tooling for latency-sensitive trading environments across cloud and on-prem.
• Improve reliability and developer velocity with observability, deploy safety, and incident response for 24/7 systems.
• Set the operational bar through standards, reviews, and automation, reducing single-point-of-failure risk across the trading stack.
• Partner with engineers building the trading platform to make latency-sensitive systems operable and performant.
• Mentor engineers and build team resilience in a lean, high-impact environment.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Institutional Markets, and SRE to turn platform needs into a roadmap.
