Job summary

Voltus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on Infrastructure to own core platform services, lead major migrations end‑to‑end, and raise the reliability of our distributed energy platform.

You will run containerized workloads, shape IAM and observability, and architect the AWS foundation. This remote role requires some overlap with the Eastern time zone and offers equity, a 10% bonus, and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong production software development experience in Go and/or Python.
• Roughly 6+ years of professional software engineering.
• A track record of owning meaningful infrastructure projects end to end.
• Real depth in AWS including multi‑account, IAM, VPC, DNS, and encryption.
• Deep, hands‑on Kubernetes experience in production (EKS, multi‑cluster).
• Strong infrastructure‑as‑code skills (Terraform or similar).
• Real depth in monitoring and observability with code‑defined metrics and dashboards.
• Hands‑on operational experience with stateful systems (DBs, brokers, restores).
• Comfort operating systems you did not build and reading unfamiliar code.

Responsibilities

• Own core Platform services and major migrations end to end.
• Run containerized workloads and the delivery path that ships them; bring Kubernetes practice to Nomad environments.
• Architect and operate our AWS foundation including multi‑account governance and networking.
• Treat identity, secrets, and encryption as first‑class infrastructure.
• Operate the stateful systems everything else sits on, including backups and replication.
• Instrument deeply for observability with metrics, traces, and SLOs.
• Build infrastructure as code and developer tooling used across the org.
• Help build the infrastructure that AI runs on and enable AI‑assisted development.
