Job summary

Voltus, a fully distributed energy platform company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure. You will own core platform services and migrations, run containerized workloads, and shape AWS, Kubernetes, and IaC practices across a broad engineering org.

You will collaborate with ~60 engineers and 7 infra teammates, working remotely with required overlap to Eastern time. The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and AI-assisted development in a fast-paced grid-dispatch environment.

Qualifications

• Strong production software development experience in Go and/or Python.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with DevOps/SRE.
• Ownership of meaningful infrastructure projects end to end, including migrations with minimal disruption.
• Deep AWS knowledge across multi-account setups, IAM, VPC, DNS, and encryption.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience in production with clusters, RBAC, autoscaling.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code skills (Terraform or similar).
• Experience with monitoring/observability and defining metrics as code.
• Hands-on experience with stateful systems and backups.
• Ability to read unfamiliar code and coordinate across teams.
• Excitement about AI-assisted development and its platform implications.

Responsibilities

• Own core Platform services and major migrations end to end.
• Run containerized workloads and the delivery path that ships them with GitOps and Kubernetes.
• Architect and operate our AWS foundation across multi-account structures and networking.
• Manage identity, secrets, and encryption with least privilege and SSO.
• Operate stateful systems including databases and message brokers, backups, and restoration.
• Instrument observability with tracing, metrics, and SLOs defined in code.
• Build infrastructure as code and developer tooling relied upon by the org.
• Support AI-assisted development tooling and secure integration.
