Job summary

Henderson Group in Cresco, IA is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives across manufacturing and office functions. You will identify bottlenecks, optimize product flow, and mentor operators and technicians to improve capabilities and performance.

Responsibilities include leading 5S, standard work, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D, developing capacity models and time standards, and driving capital project planning with operations

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial engineering data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to apply processes and methods focused on improving throughput.
• Strong knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement site-wide lean activities, including 5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 8D, to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
• Foster the professional development of facility Leads, Supervisors, and Managers
• Lead the standardization and optimization of manufacturing processes, sequences, layouts, and product flow.
• Lead and track continuous improvement activities across all functional areas, including manufacturing and office operations.
• Develop detailed project plans, drive project performance, and ensure the timely completion of improvement projects and achievement of savings goals.
• Develop, design, and plan equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
• Serve as a key owner and stakeholder for equipment capital expenditures, including design, vendor selection, procurement, and implementation.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Site Leadership Team to develop a continuous improvement roadmap focused on achieving best-in-class performance.
• Lead the creation and enhancement of capacity modeling, production planning tools, and time standards.
• Provide direction to operators and technicians while supporting their professional development, capabilities, and performance.
• Perform industrial engineering data collection, root cause analysis, and practical problem-solving to identify and address operational issues.
