Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors seeks a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for complex industrial facilities. You will deliver electrical deliverables from concept through construction, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor engineers on project teams.

You will ensure NEC compliance, develop switchgear and MCC specifications, and support startup and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
6+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience with medium-voltage systems up to 15kV.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities from concept through construction support.
Prepare and review: medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, one-line diagrams, MCC layouts and elementary diagrams, area classifications, grounding, lighting and power plans, cable schedules and conduit layouts.
Perform electrical engineering calculations including load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit studies, conduit and cable tray sizing, lighting calculations.
Develop equipment specifications for switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, motors, and substations.
Coordinate with instrumentation, process, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines; review vendor drawings and construction packages.
Conduct site visits, field investigations, tie-in verification, startup support; develop construction packages, material take-offs, schedules and estimates.
