Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in California seeks a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead technical execution from concept to startup. You will design and specify electrical power distribution and instrumentation systems for complex industrial facilities, serving as the primary technical resource on projects.

Responsibilities include delivering electrical diagrams, switchgear specs, and control systems, performing critical calculations, and coordinating with multi-discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, energy, or similar industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial facilities.
• Prepare engineering deliverables (one-line diagrams, MCC lines, cable schedules, room layouts).
• Develop specifications for switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, motors, substations, and control systems.
• Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, conduit sizing).
• Review vendor drawings, construction submittals, and provide site support during construction and startup.
