Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. The role involves designing and evaluating industrial electrical power systems and ensuring reliable, code-compliant installations.

The candidate will conduct research, analyze complex issues, perform field walkdowns, and develop practical, technically sound solutions for both existing facilities and new construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with Industrial Power background and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required for federal work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance, if needed.
• Experience performing electrical system design, design reviews, and design recovery for existing facilities and new construction projects.
• Experience with industrial electrical power distribution systems, including mainline primary power.
• Experience designing facility electrical systems rated 480V and below.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical research, analyze complex engineering issues, and develop effective solutions.
• Analyze engineering data to develop practical, technically sound solutions.
• Independently evaluate complex technical issues and provide well-supported recommendations.
• Perform design recovery and engineering evaluations of electrical systems.
• Develop and review electrical drawings, technical details, and design packages.
