Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor's degree in an ABET‑accredited engineering or technical discipline and 10+ years of relevant project engineering experience. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across planning, design, procurement, and implementation of machine tools, production upgrades, and infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, safety, and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with project planning, design, implementation, and technical coordination.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ability to manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Experience with equipment/machine tool installations and infrastructure upgrades.
• Knowledge of ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide Project Engineering support and coordination for commercial, infrastructure, production modernization, and production stockpile projects.
• Support planning, design, procurement, and implementation of new machine tools and production upgrades.
• Provide technical integration, leadership, and direction to multidisciplinary teams.
• Plan and direct engineering activities through the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain detailed project design scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Project Management, Construction, Startup, and Project Controls.
• Monitor progress against schedules and budgets, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues impacting project execution.
• Provide engineering leadership for high-priority plant initiatives.
• Ensure deliverables meet technical, quality, safety, and project requirements.
