Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer, Power in Oak Ridge, TN to support the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex.

The role focuses on electrical design engineering for facility and production areas, driving closure of Change Requests and ensuring documentation reflects modifications. The candidate will work in a regulated nuclear environment with adherence to CM processes, design change control, and coordination across engineering, drafting, and operations teams to accelerate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship due to federal work.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government clearance.
• Experience in electrical design for industrial, nuclear, DOE facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 NEC and applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop design outputs per CNS standards (NFPA 70, NEC, ASME).
• Review Change Requests for RTS > 90 days and ensure closure.
• Identify affected documents and prepare redlines for CRs.
• Perform facility and system walkdowns to verify modifications.
• Coordinate with drafting for document updates and CM integration.
• Verify that revised drawings reflect CR information correctly.
