Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Senior Incident Response Coordinator to lead tactical coordination of complex IT incidents and minimize mission impact. You will run war rooms, enforce cadence and runbooks, drive cross-team collaboration, and deliver executive-ready communications during major events.

In this role, you will execute the incident response process per ITSM governance, integrate with cyber defenders, and champion readiness and continual improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT, CS, or related field.
• 8+ years in incident management or related IT roles, including leadership of major incidents.
• Deep ITIL knowledge and best practices for runbooks, escalations, and communications.
• Proficiency with incident management tools, ITSM platforms, and monitoring solutions.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills; able to brief senior leadership.
• Ability to lead multiple concurrent incidents and coordinate diverse stakeholders.
• Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain and maintain clearance; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• War-Room Facilitation: structure major incident bridges, assign actions, track closure.
• Process Execution: maintain incident playbooks, escalation matrices, and documentation.
• Value-Stream Awareness: engage dependencies early to remove bottlenecks delaying restoration.
• Communications: provide leadership updates translating impact into business terms.
• Cross‑Practice Integration: coordinate with Problem, Change, Release, SOC/Cyber IR.
• Readiness & Drills: run tabletop exercises and ensure on-call readiness.
• Mentoring: coach coordinators on escalation protocols and analysis techniques.
• Evidence & Audit: document timelines and decisions for compliance.
