Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is hiring for the Site Reliability Engineer II role. You will work to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of our platforms, deploying scalable, highly available cloud services and monitoring them to meet SLAs.

The position requires a Master’s degree and two years of relevant experience with AWS, Python, Terraform, and other tools. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the United States.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, IT, Information Systems, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
• Must have: Two (2) years of experience with the following: AWS, Python, Terraform, Bash, Node.Js, Gradle, Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Datadog, Splunk, Databricks, Tenable, Threatmetrix, and DigiCert.

Responsibilities

• Perform site reliability engineering duties to ensure application and network performance, reliability and security.
• Deploy and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems; monitor and troubleshoot cloud services to meet SLAs.
• Analyze logs and events to provide recommendations for smooth service operation; work within large-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the United States.
