Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer – Network to help ensure the reliability and performance of our global network infrastructure.

You will work with software, operations, and network teams to implement scalable, automated solutions and define SLOs for critical services. You will mentor peers, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to DevOps practices as part of a diverse multinational engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, Network Reliability, Software Engineering, or DevOps role with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
• Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, OSI) and routers/switches (Cisco/Juniper).
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go and code review experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of our network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within the Akamai Connected Cloud to ensure high availability and performance.
• Work with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and provide thought leadership on architectural decisions.
