Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer (Uber Tech Lead) for Identity & Access Management within Platform. You will own the technical strategy unifying workforce, AI agent, service, and workload identity into one platform.

You will drive adoption across 700+ systems and mentor engineers to deepen identity as a domain. The role emphasizes architecture across pods, collaboration with Security/Compliance, and translating audit requirements into automated controls.

Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership on large platforms.
IAM expertise across workforce and non-human identity domains.
Production Go experience and distributed systems on AWS with identity protocols.

Responsibilities

Own the multi-year IAM strategy, architecture, and shared primitives across systems.
Drive architecture decisions across many teams with standards and contracts.
Build adoption strategies for 700+ systems, migrations, and build-vs-buy decisions.
Partner with Security, Compliance, IT, Infrastructure, and product leadership on automated controls and evidence.
Lead the data model and tooling to answer access questions while reducing standing privilege.
Mentor staff and raise depth in identity as a domain.
