Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Identity & Access Management within Platform. You will own the multi-year technical strategy for IAM end to end, unifying workforce, AI agent, and service identity into a single platform.

You’ll drive architecture decisions across dozens of consuming teams, set standards, and partner with Security, Compliance, IT, and product leadership to translate audit requirements into automated controls and self-generating evidence.

Qualifications

• Senior technical leader with platform experience spanning multiple teams.
• Deep IAM expertise across workforce, authorization, and machine identity.
• Production Go experience on AWS and distributed systems design.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year IAM technical strategy and architecture across pods.
• Set standards, reviews, and contracts for integration across teams.
• Design adoption paths for 700+ systems with migration plans.
• Translate audit and regulatory requirements into automated controls.
• Lead data models and tooling for access governance and provenance.
• Mentor staff and grow identity as a domain within the org.
