Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking Senior and Principal Instrumentation & Controls SMEs to join the Nuclear Services Design Group in the Huntsville area. The role focuses on leading digital I&C upgrades, performing analyses, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve safety and reliability of nuclear facilities.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to ECP development, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting project execution across multiple sites in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE), or related field in Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of I&C engineering experience, with significant experience with computer-based platforms in the nuclear industry (preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with development of test plans and detailed test instructions.
• Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades.
• Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
• Working knowledge of regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
• Knowledge of digital hardware and software components used in digital I&C systems.
• Strong analytical ability and problem-solving, teamwork, client service focus.
• 15–25% travel; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Change Package (ECP) Development to replace obsolete analog I&C with modern digital systems.
• Testing plans, detailed test instructions, and engineering calculations (FMEA, reliability assessments).
• Develop specifications and functional requirements for procurement of computer-based I&C systems.
• Provide estimates to Project Management for budget and schedule development.
• Ensure regulatory & industry standards compliance for digital I&C upgrades.
