Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking Senior and Principal Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) SMEs to join our Nuclear Services Design Group.

This role offers the opportunity to lead digital I&C upgrades for nuclear facilities, collaborate with industry leaders, and shape safe, reliable operations. The position requires technical leadership, development of engineering packages, testing and analyses, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites including Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE) or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of I&C engineering experience in nuclear industry.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience developing test plans and test instructions.
• Experience designing, installing, and testing large-scale digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades.
• Involvement across the digital upgrade life cycle (feasibility, specs, FAT/SAT, install, test).
• Knowledge of digital hardware/software components in I&C platforms (CPUs, I/O modules, fiber, servers, HSI).
• Strong problem solving, communication, teamwork, and client service focus.
• Willingness to travel 15-25% of the time.
• U.S. citizenship required under federal contract rules.

Responsibilities

• ECP development to replace/upgrade obsolete analog I&C with modern digital I&C.
• Support testing plans and instructions; perform FMEA and reliability assessments.
• Develop procurement specs for computer-based I&C systems and review OEM docs.
• Provide project estimates, participate in meetings, and manage engineering activities.
• Apply regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards in project work.
