Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Clayton, Missouri, is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with a strong power generation background to join our hybrid workforce. You will work on project teams designing new power plants, modifying existing facilities, and improving plant controls, with opportunities to travel for reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree and strong control systems coursework.
• FE exam passed and EIT designation.
• 12+ years in power plant/heavy industrial control systems.
• Power/industrial controls experience.
• Ability to read and create control diagrams and narratives.
• Knowledge of design techniques for technical plans and drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel/Access.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative work style.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams designing new power plants and plant controls.
• Prepare specs for instrumentation and controls equipment and installation services.
• Engage in power distribution designs and plant design coordination.
• Mentor colleagues and participate in Communities of Practice.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
