Job summary

TerraPower, based in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Senior Integration Engineer for the Physical Design Oversight (PDO) team. You will lead design bases, system interfaces, and licensing activities for first-of-a-kind nuclear facilities, coordinating with engineers across disciplines and suppliers.

You will oversee design products, ensure compliance with industry codes and NRC/DOE regulations, and guide multi-system analyses while supporting the Nuclear Island integration and project execution.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Civil or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• 8+ years of design and analysis experience
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Coordinate with internal and external engineering and design teams
• Experience with new nuclear power plant design projects
• Experience with risk-informed performance-based and probabilistic methodologies
• Experience with design across conceptual, final, and construction stages
• Familiarity with codes and standards (nuclear and civil)
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary tasks and resolve conflicts

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and implement design bases and strategies for plant design and licensing activities
• Develop and refine plant-level and system-level requirements and specifications
• Interface with design disciplines to identify and specify design information and performance criteria
• Verify licensing and code requirements are incorporated in the design
• Perform and support oversight reviews of design work products
• Support technical integration on the Nuclear Island with TerraPower and partners
• Coordinate multi-system integrated analyses (SSI, seismic models, external hazards)
• Monitor design organizations and ensure technical requirements are met
• Support design and integration reviews and resolve cross-functional issues
• Assist with regulatory submittals and licensing documentation
