Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Knoxville invites an I&C Engineer to join a hybrid work model, three days in the office and two remote. You will work with a multi-discipline team on nuclear instrumentation and controls projects, applying electrical, mechanical, and control theory to modernize plants.

The role emphasizes design input, engineering calculations, and documentation, plus mentoring of less experienced engineers and travel for reviews and field coordination.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering with strong academic background and coursework in analog and digital control systems.
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience or an MS degree.
• Coursework in mechatronics is desired, but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on multi-discipline projects in nuclear power plant instrumentation and controls.
• Prepare instrumentation and controls specifications and calculations.
• Create design input documentation including cable block diagrams and schematics.
• Provide guidance/mentoring to less experienced I&C engineers; support reviews.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field coordination.
