Geosyntec is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Hydraulics Business Development Leader for the Dams Market across multiple US offices, including Phoenix.

The role offers hybrid or remote flexibility and leads development of hydraulic engineering capabilities for flood risk management. You will guide dam hydraulics projects, model high-complexity systems, mentor staff, and drive business development while collaborating with senior practitioners nationwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering consulting in water resources, focusing on dams and levees.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Proven project management and business development experience.
• Strong leadership and detail orientation.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to grow hydraulic engineering practice within Geosyntec's Dams & Levees high-growth area business line.
• Coordinate resources across our national network for dam projects and mentor staff.
• Lead hydraulic analysis and modeling projects (1D/2D/3D) and serve as technical advisor.
• Design rehabilitation and new spillways, outlet works, and other dam hydraulic structures.
• Perform flood hazard assessments and dam breach analyses; support probabilistic risk assessment.
• Mentor staff and contribute to business development across offices.
• Promote visibility via publishing/presenting at industry conferences (USSD, ASDSO, CEATI, NHA).
• Manage project budgets, schedules, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Recruit, supervise, and mentor junior staff.
