Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Technician to service and install refrigeration and HVAC systems at our Auburn, AL facilities. You will interpret blueprints, calibrate direct digital controls, and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.

The role requires HVAC/R certification with 2+ years of experience, EPA refrigerant handling qualification, and a clean driver’s license. You will work with on-site managers and mentor apprentices, supporting continuous improvement

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman certification
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Experience with refrigerant handling per EPA 608
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Capable of mentoring Apprentices and technicians

Responsibilities

• Install and service HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels
• Configure direct digital controls and low ambient systems to specs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime
• Lead field teams and mentor less-experienced technicians
• Coordinate with managers, customers, and external service providers
• Maintain vehicles, inventory, and safety compliance
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents promptly
