Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician in Troy, AL to install, diagnose, and service commercial refrigeration and building systems. You will coordinate preventive maintenance, mentor junior technicians, and support on‑call service rotations across multiple facilities.

The role requires HVAC/R certification, journeyman status where required, and a valid driver's license. On‑site work with company vehicle access and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2+ years in mechanical maintenance or construction related field.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or building controls is preferred.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or universal).
• HVAC‑R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, panels, and building pneumatics.
• Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues on commercial/industrial systems.
• Maintains preventive maintenance programs and coordinates repairs under supervision.
• Leads field teams and mentors apprentices on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Drives a company vehicle and supports on‑call service needs within the region.
