Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Senior HVAC Product Development Engineer to lead design, optimization, and sustaining engineering for our residential and commercial HVAC lines. You will manage end-to-end NPD projects, drive agency compliance, and provide cross-functional engineering support.

You will mentor junior staff, apply DFSS and DFMA principles, and interact with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and sales teams to deliver market-ready HVAC solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred.
• 10+ years of product design and project engineering experience.
• Track record releasing at least two product families.
• Knowledge of HVAC system design, DFSS/DFMA, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, optimization, and qualification of HVAC systems for residential and commercial products.
• Manage NPD projects, timelines, costs, and KPI tracking.
• Interface with agencies for compliance and testing.
• Provide cross-functional guidance to manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and sales/marketing.
• Prepare BOMs, engineering drawings, PCNs, and present designs to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and apply DFSS/DFMA for process improvement.
