Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical analysis, design, and subsystem integration for HVAC equipment across Enviro-Tec platforms. You will collaborate with electrical, controls, test lab, compliance, sourcing, product management, and operations to deliver market-leading, safe, compliant products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product development.
• 5+ years of 3D CAD software experience.
• Experience designing sheet-metal assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical analysis and detailed design for AHUs, FCUs, BCUs and related subsystems.
• Lead prototype builds and fit-up verification for assembly feasibility and service access.
• Develop design improvements for manufacturability, serviceability, acoustics, energy efficiency, and product quality.
• Coordinate with compliance partners and agencies to validate mechanical requirements and tests.
• Create and maintain drawings, installation details, and mechanical instructions.
