Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Largo, FL. You will lead electrical analysis, detailed design, and controls integration for Enviro‑Tec HVAC equipment, with emphasis on wiring architecture, harnesses, and panel layouts. You will drive compliance with UL 60335, NEC, and agency certifications.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with manufacturing and compliance teams, and support production readiness and test plans in a fast‑paced development environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
5+ years of electrical design engineering experience.
Proficiency creating two‑dimensional electrical schematics (AutoCAD).
Working knowledge of NEC, UL 1995, and UL 60335‑2‑40.

Responsibilities

Electrical design & system integration for Enviro‑Tec HVAC equipment.
Define system architecture, load analysis, and protective device coordination for AHU/FCU/BCU platforms.
Design and review wiring schematics, interconnects, harnesses, and enclosure layouts.
Coordinate with Intertek/ETL and internal teams for compliance and certification.
Lead lab validation, prototypes, and DFMEA/PFMEA activities.
