Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Waco, TX, is seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanic II to oversee complex HVAC maintenance and repairs within the Plant Maintenance division. You will work on direct exchange and water-based systems, supervise others, and ensure Life Safety Code compliance.

The role requires journey-level expertise in boilers, chillers, controls, and refrigeration units, with responsibilities including inspections, documentation, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance of cooling, refrigeration, and heating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations and Life Safety Code standards.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment performance and work completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, adjustments, inspections, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC systems and automated controls.
• Design and schedule preventive maintenance for HVAC equipment and systems.
• Monitor environmental controls and air quality, and coordinate parts/materials as needed.
• Train others to perform HVAC work and use equipment.
