Job summary

Daikin Group in Texas is seeking a Design Engineer to create, analyze and document HVAC product designs from provided requirements. The role supports BOMs, drawings, specifications and prototypes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include developing and sustaining designs, leading DFMEA, overseeing test plans and project schedules, and collaborating across functions to launch products and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in a high-volume HVAC manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with DFSS, DFMEA, tolerance analysis and design for six sigma preferred.
• Experience with CAD systems and engineering change processes.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer and product development process.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and sustain HVAC product designs using mechanical engineering principles.
• Oversee test plans and system testing including thermodynamic, flow and safety tests.
• Document designs with BOMs, drawings, and change requests.
• Lead DFMEA development and collaborate on cross-functional product launches.
• Develop project schedules and drive continuous improvement in design and quality.
