Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Design Engineer to design, analyze, and document HVAC products. You will develop and sustain specifications, manage prototypes, and coordinate with vendors to gather information and support development.

You will analyze designs with DFSS/DFMEA, tolerance studies, and CFD/FEA, producing BOMs, drawings, and change requests. Collaboration with manufacturing and cross-functional teams is essential to ensure on-time, within-budget product launches.

Qualifications

• Proficient in mechanical design theory and practice.
• Experience with six sigma (DFSS) and DFMEA preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry specifications and standards (preferred).
• CAD capability and experience with engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and sustain HVAC product designs.
• Develop and manage project schedules for new and existing designs.
• Analyze designs using tolerance, thermodynamics, FEA, and CFD analyses.
• Document designs with BOMs, cost analyses, drawings, and change requests.
• Assist in redesigning components to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Solve product issues through root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Collaborate across departments to launch products and support improvements.
• Coordinate internal and external project work to meet deadlines and budget.
• Work with suppliers to improve quality and resolve issues.
• Support manufacturing with launches and issue resolution.
• Drive continuous improvement in product design and quality.
