Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a skilled Commercial Controls Technician to join our North America field service team in Orlando, FL. Under minimal supervision you will diagnose and repair complex building automation systems, mentor junior technicians, and ensure high customer satisfaction through on-site service and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting HVAC control systems, configuring software, coordinating with project staff, training customers, and promoting system

Qualifications

• Six (6) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in HVAC industry (buildings, chillers, systems)
• Vocational School program graduate or associate’s degree in a technical field, or two years’ servicing electronic/mechanical systems
• Proven ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment
• Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of electronic/digital controls and programming languages.
• Consults with customers from site assessments; provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements.
• Manages assigned work to ensure timely, high-quality execution and customer satisfaction; reports issues to management.
• Provides sketches of field changes for engineering corrections and drawings; assists with layouts and bill of materials.
• Install and modify software and graphics.
• Keeps customers informed on service performed, outstanding issues, and recommends system enhancements.
