Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a High Voltage Senior Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of Battery Energy Storage Substations and BESS Balance of Plant systems across the United States. The role ensures compliance with NETA, IEEE, NFPA, and NERC standards, and involves commissioning verification and coordination with contractors.

Reporting to the High Voltage Program Manager, the position requires five years of HV experience, strong safety discipline, and willingness to travel up to 75%

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical certificate is required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience with high-voltage electrical equipment in testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 75% with some overnight trips.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair high-voltage equipment including transformers, breakers, switchgear, cables, and related BESS systems.
• Verify commissioning of high-voltage systems per NETA-ATS standards; coordinate with third-party contractors.
• Troubleshoot faults in high-voltage systems and implement long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to complete maintenance and commissioning tasks safely and on schedule.
• Maintain records in CMMS and generate detailed reports for stakeholders.
