Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a High Voltage Senior Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the United States. You will ensure high-voltage systems operate safely and in accordance with NETA, IEEE, NFPA, and NERC standards, while coordinating commissioning with third-party teams.

You will report to the High Voltage Program Manager and perform tasks including troubleshooting, maintaining CMMS records, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience with high-voltage electrical equipment, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience with renewable energy systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory and high-voltage principles.
• Hands-on experience with transformers, switchgear, breakers, cables, and related substation components.
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures (NFPA 70E, OSHA) and arc flash awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair high-voltage equipment across BESS substations and BOP systems.
• Verify commissioning of high-voltage systems per NETA-ATS with third-party teams.
• Troubleshoot faults and apply solutions to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to complete tasks safely and on schedule.
• Maintain accurate CMMS records and generate detailed maintenance reports.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA safety procedures.
