Job summary

Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an experienced HV/MV Technician to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on substation and MV collection systems nationwide. You will execute switching, perform advanced electrical testing, and support outage responses in energized environments.

Requirements include 2–5 years in HV/MV field work, a Journeyman or Master Electrician license, and NETA certification, with proficiency in SCADA and diagnostic testing. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of HV/MV field experience (500kV and below).
• Substation maintenance and MV collection systems expertise.
• Ability to read one-lines, schematics, relay drawings.
• Experience executing switching under formal authority.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Licensing and certifications as listed.

Responsibilities

• Complete CMMS work orders accurately and on time.
• Submit detailed service reports after maintenance activities.
• Support warranty documentation and vendor coordination.
• Maintain switching logs and test reports.
• Perform maintenance on substation equipment up to 500kV: switches, CTs, PTs, transformers, LTCs, capacitors, surge arresters.
• Maintain MV collection systems (15kV–35kV): dead-break elbows, terminations, splices, switchgear.
• Execute approved HV/MV switching procedures with system operators.
• Install and remove protective grounds.
• Assist with oil sampling and diagnostic review (DGA coordination).
• Assist with cable fault locating, insulation resistance testing, and VLF testing.
